Primo-Lacto is a collection and dispensing system that can be connected to the most commonly used feeding syringes and breast pump systems to capture and administer colostrum with 0% material loss. Primo-Lacto is intended for use when (1) mothers cannot or choose not to nurse their newborn or (2) the newborn can’t nurse due to trouble latching, no sucking reflex, or other condition such a prematurity. NCC-PDI has provided $50,000 in direct funding, as well as consultation for follow-on sources of funding, NICU expertise and product validation, and marketing support.
