In the NICU, monitoring blood gases in newborns with respiratory diseases poses many challenges, with current devices creating risk of skin damage and infection. This non-invasive respiration monitor device is based on the diffusion of oxygen and carbon dioxide across the skin and is simple and painless to use. NCC-PDI has provided 50,000 in funding and initiated the formal project.
