Epitel provides point-of-care brain health monitoring where you are, when you need it. Now, monitoring brain health in the minutes and hours after birth can be done within seconds at community hospitals that lack a neurology service, applied in the delivery room. Epilog is an inexpensive, discrete, disposable EEG machine that brings medical grade EEG monitoring into the delivery room for the first time. Two to four Epilog are applied to the scalp of the neonate simply by peeling off the sticker liner, placing the device on the scalp, and activating by pressing the center of the patch. Epilog immediately begins to record EEG and sends the data to a secure server in the hospital network through typical telemedicine platforms. Neonatologists and pediatric epileptologists log on from anywhere in the world to monitor Epilog EEG in real time and as amplitude-integrated EEG (aEEG). This connected health wearable revolutionizes the way neonates suspect of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy are managed at the community hospital. Epilog gives neonatologist and epileptologists the power to make life-saving, time-sensitive decisions regarding the use of therapeutic hypothermia and/or transport to a tertiary hospital NICU through a combination of real-time and aEEG with telemedicine, 24 hours a day, wherever they are. Epilog will reduce misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, and mortality.
