There is currently an unmet need in clinical patient care to provide inexpensive and consistently effective prevention of central line associated blood stream infections (CLABSI). bioSCRUB technology consists of a sugar-cube sized open-cell microabrasive foam that is saturated with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and is able to remove and absorb the CLASBI-causing bacteria much faster than the current standard, IPA wipes. NCC-PDI is providing $50,000 in direct funding, as well as regulatory support. Manufacturing is being done in T3 Labs in Georgia.
