Imagine you find yourself with a wound deep enough to require medical assistance. Now, imagine having the wound prodded by a Q-Tip or disposable ruler to measure its depth. Ouch. Not only is that method painful, it’s also inaccurate. But until recently, it was the only way health care professionals could evaluate a wound.
